Briana Neben is a Carson High graduate and received her Associate of Arts from Western Nevada College in 2013. In the following year, she was one of a few hundred students selected from thousands of applicants to participate in the Disneyland College Program. Upon her return from California, she decided to change her major to social work and pursue her passion of creating change. After completing volunteer training for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) in Carson City, she seized an opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors and was elected as Board President at age 22 and held that position for two years. She continues to carry out her passion for this organization by currently serving as the Board Secretary. She is also a passionate volunteer for Advocates to End Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Response Advocates, and completed their volunteer training in 2015. She has held three local titles in the Miss America Organization, and her top-five placement at Miss Nevada the past two years has contributed to the scholarships that are paying for the reminder of her social work degree at the University of Nevada, Reno. Briana is thrilled to participate in TEDx Carson City and looks forward to continuing to invest her time and energy into our state’s capital, a city that helped to heal after she faced multiple hardships during her teen years.
